For people hoping to read a book like this and expect high-brow literature, you will likely be disappointed. This book is an erotic interracial romance novel. It is titillating, romantic, and hot! It moves fast, it's not weighted with too many polysyllabic words, purple prose, or intricate plot points; so I read it in two days. The typos were a little distracting but not enough to make me close the book. I do think it's possible to make an erotic, interracial romance book more meaty than this, but that's just me.I like that the author chose to make Angelique the object of Thierry's obsession long before they met, so it's easy for me as a reader to buy that he falls for her hard when he finally meets her. I would have liked to see Angelique struggle a little bit to pry herself away from a more doting fiance. The author just made her Black fiance, Paul, a one-dimensional, disposable jerk. One, that's a little insulting to Black men. Two, life is not always as tidy and clear-cut as that. Often women fall for another man even when the faults of the man they are currently with are not as egregious. But I'll forgive the choice the author made because overall, I still like the book.
I think this book is somewhat like watching porn and the author has to know that. But instead of the porn being slanted just towards a man's enjoyment and devoid of a plot, this book has a good plot and is slanted towards a woman's - a Black woman's - enjoyment. Particularly a Black woman who has fantasized about sex and romance with a devastatingly handsome, doting, chivalrous, rich, white male.
The strained relationship between Angelique and her mother was interesting and her distant relationship with her father was too. It was also nice to see that Angelique had a support network of girlfriends to bounce her experiences off of. I agree with others who said that Remy, Thierry's friend, was an interesting character, too and we want to know more about him. I even chuckled a little at his antics and shameless flirting. Don't some of us harbor secret crushes or past crushes on the witty, flirtatious friend of our boyfriends? The way Remy was flirting with Angelique, one almost thought Remy was going to jump her bones, too or at least kiss her . . . even for a scene.
Didn't like the scenes leading up to the marriage. They seemed too far-fetched, but otherwise good book that I'm passing along to a friend.

i truly enjoyed this novel,the heroine's father was a weak character and her mother was a bitch, but their story was immensely erotic.And the shipping was prompt.
This book looks obviously self-published, as the text went to the top and bottom of each page (to save space?) and there were plenty of typos. The characters weren't developed enough, although it was an okay story. I wish I had traded it from one of my used book exchange clubs rather than buying it new.
All in all, this was a pretty good book. However, with more plot and character development, this could have been a much better read. Thierry has a crush on Angelique for more than 10 years and one fateful night allows him to truly pursue her. Their romance is sweet and innocent. It seems that Rance (Thierry's cousin) and Jade (Angel's friend) have something going on, but nothing develops in the book. I would like to have seen Rance and Jade have a relationship. Another cousin of Thierry's, Remy, had a good story to tell, I believe, if it were developed. I would like to have known what Angel's mother complete story was about. I smell a second book/continuation down the line. I recommend this book.
This story was great. The drama was well thought out and kept me wanting more. I love the characters and for once I wasn't angry the female lead was a virgin at her age. The reasoning behind everything was explained perfectly and I just love it when an author doesn't keep me wondering what the hell just happened and Shara Azod didn't.
I can't wait to get Remy goes to therpy which is the next book in this series. I just hope kindle gets it soon.
Like I said I love this book, despite its grammatical errors, I highly recomend it.
I LOVED THIS BOOK. I finished it at about 2am one morning. I got out of bed and kept saying, "This was sooooooo good," over and over again. I realized that this was the first of four books involving the four woman and the four cousins. I can't wait to read the other ones. I love sequels because the give you a peak at the former main characters so I look forward to extending this adventure. I just adored Thierry. What a man! Where are these guys???? He was strong, loving and committed. You will not be disappointed reading this story and it will set you on the road to the other three. Buy it and sit back and enjoy.
Great interracial romance read if you are looking for a steamy novel! It's definitely erotic, so if you are looking for sweet, this probably isn't a book for you. In this book Thierry falls in love with Angelique while she's still a teenager and keeps his eye on her into adulthood, but doesn't make contact until she's 25. When they meet the sparks definitely fly as their instant attraction quickly turns into love. The two of them battle an ex-fiance, stepmother and grandmother and quickly marry. There are a lot of unanswered questions and I suspect a sequel is probably in the works for Thierry's cousins, Angelique's best friends and maybe even her conniving cousin Solange. Nice, light read with a tidy ending. I read it in less than a day.
